I photographed Madison when she was just a teeny tiny wee newborn. So when her parents booked back in for a cake smash I was super excited to see her again. Before the session I had a good discussion with Mum about the set up she wanted. Mum loved the woodland/teepee set up but wanted to put a more girly twist on it. So we opted to include beautiful blush pink roses and I sourced the most amazing bunch of fresh flowers from Waitrose to include as well. I am particularly fond of mixing both real and fake flowers in my session. I just loved how this turned out. As did Mum, “the set was beautiful and exactly what we were after.”
It turns out that Madison just loves Jellycat bunnies (well, who doesn’t?) which she takes with her everywhere. So of course we had to use these in her sweet woodland cake smash . Mum and Dad brought along her collection to use in the session and the colours toned perfectly. Although I was a little nervous the bunnies might get covered in cake, Mum and Dad didn’t seem to mind!
Madison’s parents also brought a gorgeous little dress for her to wear, which was particularly special to them. This definitely makes the session even more special, unique and personalised to you.
Gorgeous Madison was a confident little walker. This often means lots of picking up and popping back in the set up, as at this stage little ones definitely want to be exploring! And although Madison wasn’t her normally super smiley self, I still managed to achieve a lovely gallery of images for Mum and Dad to select their favourites from xx

After the session
I always guarantee 20 images for all my clients, which get edited and put into an online viewing gallery but there are always soooo many more great images from a cake smash session. Most parents end up viewing 40-50 images! The best thing about this is that if you purchase the whole gallery you get all the images, whether there are 20 or 60, at the same cost!
