It is a pretty big deal, turning one year old. And as with all of life’s milestones it’s always wonderful to have a photographic record of the big event, to look back on for years to come, to remind us of how it actually was, even if our own memories get a little hazy. So that’s exactly what we did when George came to see me in the Samphire studio, to have his portrait taken, to mark his first birthday.
Mum had requested a simple blue and white theme and it’s easy to see why. The blues in his clothes and in the balloons really picks out the colour of his beautiful eyes, and complements that wonderful blond hair. I think he is the very definition of a bonny blond blue-eyed boy. As well as the 1st birthday balloons, Mum also brought in his special patchwork blanket, and this really makes the portraits special, personal, and unique. I’m always happy for clients to bring in items that have sentimental value to them, and include them in the images. The only other thing we needed was a winning smile and gorgeous George was more than happy to provide me with plenty of those, which meant I could capture some fabulous first birthday portraits for his family and friends to treasure.
Here is a small selection of my favourites from his first birthday portraits session with Samphire Photography xx
