As an experienced baby photographer I have photographed loads of newborns in my time. But this little girl was just stunning to photograph. So when I found out her name was Ruby (I can’t say her name without thinking of the song, which I love by they way!) I just had to use this gorgeous fabric in her session. Plus, it was also a nod to the time of year she was born. Can you guess… or does the candy cane give it away in my selection of images below?!
Ruby arrived just a few days after her due date, so didn’t keep Mum waiting too long. She came into the Samphire studio for her newborn portraits when she was 9 days old.
Ruby was simply amazing. She slept like a dream which meant I was able to work through loads of different poses. And as for that beautiful hair. Wow! I love it. All my three children had none as newborns, so I get super excited when a baby with a full head of hair comes in for a newborn session. Possibly a little too excited!
Just gorgeous. I know that Mum & Dad have some fantastic images to cherish forever xx

Did you know, all my full session newborn clients are invited back to the Samphire studio for a complimentary sitter session? That way I get to see how ‘my’ babies have grown. Plus, this is another of my favourite ages to photograph babies at. At this stage babies may be sitting up or lifting themselves up onto all fours and so bringing opportunities to pose them sitting in our vintage baskets or tin bath tub. These sessions are fun, and focus on capturing the personality of your little one!
