Have you ever wondered what would happen if you have booked your Horsham Newborn Photographer session and then are unwell after birth? Well, firstly, there is no need to worry. These things happen. Life does not always go to plan. Especially when babies are involved! Rest assured, you will not lose out on your opportunity for your little one’s portraits. We can easily rearrange to find an alternative time for your photoshoot. As I mention in my booking information, once you are fully booked in for a shoot I will always find space to fit you in with me, your Horsham newborn photographer. Whether you are visiting me from Crawley Down, Chichester or Christs Hospital I always look forward to meeting you.
This is what happened to this poor new Mum who was unwell post-birth. Consequently she was just not able to make it straight in to the studio for the newborn session that we had arranged before Cody was born. So naturally, we simply postponed to give her time to recover. But then, unfortunately, I became unwell. I have to say, generally I am pretty healthy and don’t often get sick. This was just one of those rare times. Above all your baby’s safety always comes first. I will never work when I am unwell to make sure they are kept safe. So we rescheduled, again.
In the end, this gorgeous little man came in to the Samphire studio at 26 days old. This was perfectly fine. Generally, newborn photoshoots take place when your little one is up to 2-weeks old. But I work with newborns up to a month. So 26-days old was not a problem. Sometimes, some of the more advanced posing might be a bit trickier after the first two weeks. Older newborns have been out of the womb that little bit longer, so they can be more reactive to touch. But with all newborn sessions we allow plenty of time to try different poses and props.
Colours
Mum had requested neutral tones, so we used a gorgeous colour palette of soft browns and beiges, which I just love. A combination of cosy knits and textures made sure little Cody was super snug and comfortable throughout. Content babies make for beautiful photographs. I particularly love him cuddled up with one of my tiny newborn teddies that I like to use during my sessions. He loved my vintage tin bucket, and this, teamed up with some seasonal pumpkins, made for the perfect picture. When children are born at specific times of the year I like to add in seasonal touches. For Autumn babies, like young Cody, I do like to add in a pumpkin or two, or three, or more! It’s a sweet nod to the time of his birth.
Little Cody was a total star and a super sleeper. And we managed to nail plenty of different images for Mum so she had a fabulous gallery of images from the session.
Kind Words
Mum said, “We absolutely loved our photo shoot, I have even recommended you to friends as your work is absolutely amazing.”
I know Mum and Dad absolutely loved his newborn images and they booked in for his cake smash straight after. I’m so looking forward to seeing how much he has grown in a year xx
