It really doesn’t get much better than welcoming back a returning client and when this family booked in for a newborn session to celebrate the birth of their second child I was over the moon. Their elder daughter Jessica – who I had met when she came to the Samphire studio for her newborn portraits and also her first birthday Cake Smash – was nearly one and a half when she got to meet her beautiful new baby sister Amelia, who arrived just in time for Christmas. What a lovely Christmas present to them all…although very tiring I am sure. To give them a chance to catch their breath over the festive season, little Amelia came to the studio when she was just over two weeks old. Mum and Dad were incredibly well prepared and came in with a gorgeous winter dress for Jessica to wear and they also had one for baby Amelia too. It’s clear for us all to see just how happy Jessica is, such a brilliant big sister.
Amelia was as wonderful as her sister was for her newborn portraits and she totally rocked the soft lilac colour theme selected for her session. Lots of soft textures in layers and wraps, to make it super snuggly as well as picture perfect. A lot of these products I use, including the gorgeous the felted hearts, I get from one of my favourite suppliers in Wales, Cwtchi Coo, who have the most wonderful selection of baby props.
Here are a few more of my favourte images from the session xx

All my newborn clients are invited back to the Samphire studio for a complimentary sitter session. That way I get to see how ‘my’ babies have grown plus also this is probably one of my most favourite ages to photograph babies at. At this stage babies may be sitting up or lifting themselves up onto all fours, bringing opportunities to pose them sitting in our vintage baskets or tin bath tub. These sessions are fun, and focus on capturing the personality of your little one!
