If you are unsure about whether booking in for a newborn session with older sibling is right for you, then look no further. I just love newborn sessions which include all the family. Charming little man Zavier came in with his big sister Avannah when he was just 9 days old; their parents had been given the newborn session as a baby shower gift by their lovely friends. Often during newborn portrait with older sibling sessions I pose the children separately for safety reasons and then composite them together afterwards, especially if the older brother or sister is still very young themselves. But Avannah was brilliant, she very calm and understood all the directions I gave her which meant that I could pose them together to achieve the wonderful shot above. Dad was on hand close to Zavier just in case he was needed, but the children were both little stars.
As well as portraits of the siblings together, I also took some family shots, and of course portraits of Zavier on his own, to record his entrance into the world and this family. I opted for a mix of delicate blues and grey for this little boy and I particularly love the bear and bear bonnet combination from Lavender Lace. So cute!
Here are just some of my favourite images from Zavier’s newborn session with Samphire Photography xx

All my newborn clients are invited back to the Samphire studio for a complimentary sitter session. That way I get to see how ‘my’ babies have grown plus also this is probably one of my most favourite ages to photograph babies at. At this stage babies may be sitting up or lifting themselves up onto all fours, bringing opportunities to pose them sitting in our vintage baskets or tin bath tub. These sessions are fun, and focus on capturing the personality of your little one!
