So as a newborn portrait photographer I love welcoming back returning clients. I blogged a few weeks ago about an amazing maternity session I did for this wonderful family. I have photographed them more than once before and it is always a pleasure. Well, not long afterwards their beautiful baby Isabelle was born and they were back in for her Newborn portraits.
Sweet little Isabelle came in when she was just 12 days old and because she was born just before the festive period I just had to include some sumptuous red in her portrait session. However, for the rest of the session I used a palette of purples and pinks which suited her perfectly. She was a total star.
Her big brother Ethan was also amazing and we captured some great portraits of the two of them. These are often done as composites with very young siblings, so that I know the newborn will be 100% safe in whichever prop I am using. I photograph the older sibling at the start of the session next to various props. Then, as I work through my flow of posing, I incorporate images of their newborn sibling in the props which featured in the sibling portrait. Then onto Photoshop where the magic happens and the two images are put together. Ta-dah…..!
I also captured these gorgeous family portraits for them all as well. Leaving them with a great gallery of images. Mum thought so too, “Arrrrrrrrrh……oh my god they are amazing…!! You are soooo clever.. I’m so in love with them all…” Comments like these are what make my job so special as I know these images I take and the experience I give all my clients will be treasured for ever.

Did you know, all my full session newborn clients are invited back to the Samphire studio for a complimentary sitter session? That way I get to see how ‘my’ babies have grown. Plus, this is probably one of my most favourite ages to photograph babies at. At this stage babies may be sitting up or lifting themselves up onto all fours. Consequently bringing opportunities to pose them sitting in our vintage baskets or tin bath tub. These sessions are fun, and focus on capturing the personality of your little one!
