Oh my goodness Ethan, aren’t you simply wonderful? Just look at all that fabulous hair! Not to mention the eyes, and nose, and toes, and fingers etc etc; I could make quite a list. This charming little man came to see me in the Samphire studio for his newborn portraits when he was three weeks old. I usually suggest that the ideal age for newborn photographs is in a baby’s first two weeks which gives the maximum opportunity to capture the adorable sleepy curled-up baby poses, and many newborn photographers only work within this window of time. But my experience has taught me that fantastic newborn images can be achieved with babies much older. So generally, I work with newborns who are up to a month old, but I have photographed a 12-week old for a newborn session which provided his family with some amazing images.
And just look at him, warm and cosy, all snuggled up in a gorgeous mix of neutral, natural tones, with layers and soft textures, knits and wood. I do love the woodland colours of green and brown together, it’s very restful and gentle, just perfect for this sleepy little boy. A cuddly bunny always helps too and I think you can see we’ve captured some truly gorgeous images for Mum & Dad to treasure of their wonderful baby boy. At three weeks old Ethan was the perfect little boy in the studio and I wish his family all the best for their future together.
Here is a small selection of my favourites from his newborn session with Samphire Photography. Enjoy xx
