Are you looking for a Newborn Photographer Dorking? Well, take a few minutes to read through my round-up of the start of the year to see just why it is important to book early. There are only so many hours in the week!
AMAZING START
Wow! What a fabulous start to the first few months of 2022. Normally a reasonably quiet period, this January saw one of my busiest for babies on record. Who knows if this is still the Covid effect or not? Not that it matters, it was just lovely to meet so many precious newborns. Whether I saw returning clients or brand new ones it meant that the start of the year was indeed a special one.
TIME FOR TWO
After a wonderful Christmas break with family which I always take at the end of the year. Juggling all those babies born over the festive period can sometimes prove a little tricky! This year started with the news of twins coming into the studio and how adorable are they?! A little boy and girl, obviously non-identical, had me and my assistant, Karen, in our element. I always bring her in when we have more than one newborn baby in the studio. One pair of hands simply isn’t enough. This way, both parents get some much-needed downtime and relaxation for a few hours whilst we take care of their little ones. Heidi & Euri were super adorable and after many cuddles and a catch-up, Mum and Dad left knowing they were in for a real treat when their viewing gallery was ready.
SUPER SIBLINGS
Then it was baby Vincent’s turn. Baby number three for this wonderful family who I have seen before in the studio. Vincent brought in his older brother and sister who were not only amazing but also were clearly in love with their new baby brother. As many of you know, I capture family and sibling portraits as standard in all my newborn session at no extra cost. So Mum and Dad now have a gorgeous portrait of all three children to hang on their walls.
MELLOW YELLOW
Next, it was time for a little girl. Meet the beautiful Sienna. Mum and Dad became parents for the first time when she was born and they are going to be total naturals. I selected a mix of yellows and greys for her session which I love. These definitely suited the little lady. She was also a dream, literally nailing those poses. So super chilled out too that it made the session fly by. Sienna’s parents found me after a family recommendation. I often have clients coming into the studio on the back of referrals and it is one of the best ways, I think, to find and book a newborn photographer.
Receiving a referral first-hand from someone you know who has already been into the Samphire Studios is priceless. They have already met me and seen the way I work. They can explain how great the experience is so that you know you are coming into the best place for your newborn portraits.
SUPER IN SEA GREEN
Now let’s meet Aiden. Baby number two and another brother for this family. Both boys were lovely and a pleasure to have in the studio. I selected this lovely sea green backdrop for Aiden which suited him so well. Teamed up with a super soft fluffy hat in this image. Such a cutie!
WELCOME BACK
… to a lovely family who I have met so many times since they had their first child back at the start of Covid. In fact, they were my first-ever clients who came in after the initial lockdown. Where I spent the best part of the session apologising whilst sweating in a mask throughout their newborn session! So pleased to have them back with older brother Roman. Odin came in at just a week old, super teeny tiny and just perfect. Roman, who is a little whirlwind, even manage to sit still long enough for a portrait! Treasured memories for Mum and Dad.
ALL THINGS PINK
Back to girls when Indianna came into the studio. She was 6 days old and mum was super excited to be having a girl, “so love all the girly bonnets, flower crowns and headpieces.” Colour-wise it had to be pinks and whites. I think I delivered.
NEUTRALS FOR NOAH
Another little boy came into the studio shortly afterwards. This time a little baby called Noah. His session was designed around neutrals, as requested by Mum and Dad. He was 7 days old and also slept like a dream. Here he is fast asleep in one of my many buckets. Adorable!
PURE & SIMPLE
A simple set-up in neutrals was selected by Stanleys’ parents for his newborn shoot. He was three and a half weeks old for his session had the best eyelashes and the biggest eyes! Not that you can tell from this portrait. He is fast asleep and, funnily enough, sleeping like a baby! I literally could have kept him.
BABY MAKES 6
Taylor extended this family by one more to a family of 6 and I had the pleasure of meeting them all. She rocked her session and we captured some lovely family images as well. Plus a great selection of newborn images. Here she is all super snug in my woodland bark bowl. Wearing a headband from the insanely talented Wild Thistle Props. Definitely one of my preferred headband suppliers. It is hard not to get carried away when I am on her website! This family had their previous newborn booking cancelled due to the photographer’s ill health. So lucky for me as I never would have had the pleasure of meeting them all otherwise. This newborn photographer Dorking is very lucky indeed.
HEADBANDS RULE
Another girl and this time I used my gorgeous daisy print fabric for Lilianna. This looks amazing with any newborn but especially girls. She rocked all her headbands and looked adorable. Her big sister Caitlynn also came along and even though just 19 months herself she was also amazing. She rocked her portrait with her new baby sister too. A stunning gallery of images for Mum and Dad who just had to have all of them, like so many of my clients.
SPRING IS IN THE AIR
As we are heading toward Spring I was happy to add in a few more yellows for this next session. Indicative of all those daffodils which start to bloom during the late winter and early spring. I love it and Harper did too. Teamed up with a floral crown she is totally owning this image. I would definitely have this printed as large as I could in my house.
As a Newborn Photographer Dorking I’m starting to look ahead from Spring into Summer. As always, my diary is starting to fill. I only pre-book a certain number of newborn clients each week. This allows sessions to be moved due to the early or late arrivals. We all know babies tend to arrive when they want to, very rarely on their expected due date.
So please don’t leave it too late to book in, because I may not always have space to fit you in. The above images are just a selection of portrait sessions from the first quarter of the year as I am not always able to share them. Plus, I also photograph maternity, cake smashes, children and families. So you can understand why I sometimes, rather heartbreakingly, have to turn people away.
