I do love newborn babies with hair and gorgeous little Joshua was definitely no exception. In fact, when he came into the Samphire studio when he was 16 days old, he surprised me by having this super gorgeous blond streak in his thick dark hair (a new one for me, but I have since photographed another newborn who looked like she has been in to the hairdressers for highlights!!!) And oh my, how time has flown! Baby Joshua is coming back in to see me soon for his first birthday Cake Smash and it will be interesting to see if he still has his fabulous blond streak.
Gorgeous Joshua was an amazing sleeper and I just love the image above which shows him ‘hanging’ in a carrier, but in fact this was taken on the flat surface of my beanbag poser, from above. The image below, however, is one of my absolute favourites, as it shows his gorgeous little face and that super cute blond streak. Deep blue is a favourite backdrop for my beanbag posed shots, as I feel it’s richness really makes the babies stand out in their portraits and I also have a wide variety of hats and wraps I can use.
I managed to capture a wide variety of poses for Mum and Dad to select from, and have as cherished memories.
Here are a few more of my favourite images from Joshua’s newborn session with Samphire Photography xx

All my newborn clients are invited back to the Samphire studio for a complimentary sitter session. That way I get to see how ‘my’ babies have grown plus also this is probably one of my most favourite ages to photograph babies at. At this stage babies may be sitting up or lifting themselves up onto all fours, bringing opportunities to pose them sitting in our vintage baskets or tin bath tub. These sessions are fun, and focus on capturing the personality of your little one!
